Mochèni es un chal triangular simétrico que se teje en plano, de arriba abajo. Se comienza con un montaje de lengüeta y se amplía el chal mediante aumentos a ambos lados del cuerpo y de la franja central. A lo largo del tejido, se alternan varias secciones de motivos geométricos formados por combinaciones de puntos del derecho y del revés. Una trenza de seis puntos recorre cada borde lateral y se repite en la espina central del chal; las trenzas se trabajan al mismo tiempo que el cuerpo. Se termina con un borde de punto elástico y un cierre elástico que acompaña la flexibilidad del borde. Por último, se bloquea el chal para definir su forma y realzar las texturas.

HILADO

Aproximadamente 900 m de cualquier hilado de grosor Sport o DK (250-300 m/100 g).

En la muestra se han usado tres madejas de Dynasty de Dark Omen Yarn (85% merino, 15% yak) (300 m/100 g) del color Ochre.

MATERIALES

• Agujas circulares de 4,5 mm, o las necesarias para obtener la muestra de tensión y cable de 80 cm.
• Aguja auxiliar de trenzas.
• Marcadores.
• Hilo de desecho.
• Aguja lanera.

MUESTRA DE TENSIÓN

19 p y 32 vtas en un cuadrado de 10 x 10 en punto trigo antes de bloquear.

La muestra de tensión no es crucial para tejer el chal, pero puede afectar a la cantidad de hilado necesario y a las medidas finales.

MEDIDAS FINALES

Aproximadamente 200 cm x 90 cm.

Mochèni evokes the mountain landscape of the Mòcheni Valley in northern Italy and the feeling of arriving somewhere warm after a cold day. The warmth of wool, the crackle of a fire and the comfort of wrapping oneself in a favourite knitted piece: a hug to carry with you.

Mochèni is a symmetrical triangular shawl worked flat from the top down. It is started with a garter tab cast-on and shaped with increases on both sides of the body and the central panel. Several sections of geometric motifs, created by combining knit and purl stitches, are worked in sequence. A six-stitch cable runs along both side edges and is repeated along the central spine of the shawl; the cables are worked at the same time as the body. The shawl is finished with a ribbed edge and a stretchy bind-off that allows the edge to remain flexible. Finally, the shawl is blocked to define its shape and bring out the textures.

YARN

Approximately 900m of any sport or DK weight yarn (250-300m/100g).

The sample shown used three skeins of Dynasty from Dark Omen Yarn (85% merino, 15% yak) (300m/100g) in the colour Ochre.

MATERIALS

• 5mm circular needles or size needed to obtain gauge and a cable of 80cm.
• Cable needle.
• Stitch markers.
• Waste yarn.
• Tapestry needle.

GAUGE

19sts x 32 rows gives a square of 10 x 10cm in moss stitch before blocking.

Gauge is not crucial for this project, but it can affect the final measurements and the amount of yarn needed.

FINAL MEASUREMENTS

Approximately 200cm x 90cm.

DIFFICULTY LEVEL AND NECESSARY KNOWLEDGE

Lo scialle Mochèni evoca il paesaggio montano della valle dei Mòcheni, nel nord Italia, e la sensazione di arrivare in un luogo caldo dopo una giornata trascorsa al freddo. Il calore della lana, il crepitio del camino e il piacere di avvolgersi nel proprio capo preferito: un abbraccio da portare con sé.

Mochèni è uno scialle triangolare simmetrico lavorato in piano, dall’alto verso il basso. Si comincia con un avvio a linguetta e si amplia lo scialle mediante aumenti su entrambi i lati del corpo e della fascia centrale. Nel corso della lavorazione si alternano diverse sezioni di motivi geometrici formati da combinazioni di maglie a diritto e a rovescio. Una treccia di sei maglie percorre ciascun bordo laterale e si ripete lungo la spina centrale dello scialle; le trecce vengono lavorate contemporaneamente al corpo. Si termina con un bordo a coste e una chiusura elastica che ne asseconda la flessibilità. Infine, lo scialle viene bloccato per definirne la forma e mettere in risalto le texture.

FILATO

Circa 900 m di un qualsiasi filato di spessore Sport o DK (250-300 m/100 g).

Per il campione sono state usate tre matasse di Dynasty di Dark Omen Yarn (85% merino, 15% yak) (300 m/100 g) nel colore Ochre.

• Ferri circolari da 4,5 mm, o della misura necessaria per ottenere la tensione indicata, e cavo da 80 cm.
• Ferretto da trecce.
• Marcapunti.
• Filo di scarto.
• Ago da lana.

TENSIONE

19 m e 32 f in un quadrato di 10 x 10 cm a punto grana di riso doppia prima del bloccaggio.

La tensione non è fondamentale per lavorare lo scialle, ma può influire sulla quantità di filato necessaria e sulle misure finali.

MISURE FINALI

Circa 200 cm x 90 cm.
